Support for the Library
Through the generous support of our members and participants in our fundraising activities, the Friends of the Doylestown Library funds library programs, equipment/facilities and materials:
Programs
All programs are held in the Pearl Buck Room of the Doylestown Library (unless otherwise noted) and are free and open to the public. Pre-registration is recommended for most programs, although walk-ins are welcome on a space-available basis. The FODL strives to align its programs with the PA Forward, an initiative of the Pennsylvania Library Association promoting five literacies: Basic Literacy, Information Literacy, Civic and Social Literacy, Health Literacy, and Financial Literacy.

Summer Quest
The BCFL’s popular summer children’s program. For more information, visit the Summer Quest web site or speak to a librarian.
Open ‘Mic’ Poetry Nights
Inspiring readings from local poets. Hosted twice per year by Tom Mollouk, author and Bucks County Poet Laureate Emeritus.

Reading to the Dogs
One our most popular programs, conducted in partnership with Roxy Therapy Dogs. Held monthly (Sept-June), participants choose a book and read it to a therapy dog, then take the book home.
Book Club
A new book every two months. The Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of every odd-numbered month (except July). Meetings are conducted on Zoom, except for in-person meetings held in May and Sept.
Chair Yoga
In partnership with Dragonfly Yoga Studio. This popular program is offered in two sessions every Friday morning.
Equipment and Facilities
The FODL works to respond to the library’s needs, and has funded several improvements to benefit library patrons.

Everbright Light Wall
An interactive display in the children’s area.

Privacy Booths
Two spaces in which patrons can conduct private calls or video conferences without disturbing others.
The Backyard
A garden where patrons can enjoy reading in a quiet, outdoor space.
Materials
The FODL supports materials used by readers and expansion of the library collections.
- Bucks for Books – The BCFL campaign to grow the library collections, including online materials.
- Book Page – A monthly publication featuring the latest books published.
Thank you to our Library Staff!
The FODL hosts a Staff Appreciation Luncheon at the end of each year, to show our appreciation for the people who keep our library running smoothly.
